Cornwall residents eligible for weight support services can access an award-winning behaviour change app through Healthy Cornwall from today.
The 12 week programme supports residents to start and sustain healthy habits through weekly structured education, on-demand behaviour change resources and activities and group and 1- to-1 coaching.
The free remote weight management programme is accessed through Gro Health which provides tailored health programmes to participants.
An in-app recipe library provides meal ideas tailored to culture, budget and dietary preferences. Members also receive tailored feedback on tracked health and food diary data. Participants without access to the internet can opt for a physical pack and support delivered by Gro Health via telephone.
Participants can be referred by primary care and self-referral. The platform has been developed by a leading team of behavioural change and clinical experts to provide holistic health support and maintenance of healthy habits.
Cllr Dr Andy Virr, Portfolio Holder for Adults and Public Health at Cornwall Council, said: “We’re delighted be working with Gro Health to offer this free programme to residents in Cornwall. “Face-to-face support is widely available across the county but some may find it tricky to attend sessions and others simply may not want to speak to someone directly, especially in the current climate."
"With the Gro Health app people can move through the programme at their own pace with support and without having to travel which makes it super accessible and flexible. “So if you would like support around making choices that support eating more healthily, getting more active and maybe losing a little weight, register your interest and find out if you’re eligible for free access to Gro go to grohealth.com/cornwall.”
Michaela de la Fosse, Operations Manager comments: “We are delighted to support people in Information Classification: Cornwall with our award-winning behaviour change app. Gro Health is shown to support weight loss and improve mental health and so I can’t wait to see the impact of the platform on Cornwall’s residents.”
Gro Health is DTAC-approved and the highest-ever rated Orcha app, scoring 96%.
