The Covid-19 pandemic has undoubtedly had a huge impact on the NHS and healthcare providers. In response to this, One Devon’s objective was to provide both an immediate response to support staff, and longer-term sustainable improvements to increase resilience and promote wellbeing.
“Over time the likelihood of staff stress, burnout and mental health problems increases, and it is important that the wellbeing of staff continues to be prioritised. This offer from DDM focuses on helping to understand the psychological impact of the pandemic on yourself and others, along with strategies to cope and manage this stress.” - Jo Cheffey, Lead Clinical Psychologist, Devon Wellbeing Hub
The program, delivered through the Gro Health platform, consists of 10 weeks of bespoke live sessions addressing topics including applying psychological first aid (PFA) at work, identifying burnout and stress in colleagues, and understanding trauma and its impact within the context of Covid. All sessions are developed and facilitated by DDM’s team of clinical psychologists.
The aim of the program is to provide staff with the skills and confidence to have sensitive conversations and support colleagues with their wellbeing, creating a network of wellbeing support buddies and champions across One Devon, the name for Devon Integrated Care Service (ICS).
